BHS celebrates Pi Day!!!

Pi (π) Day was celebrated in the Blair High School mathematics classrooms again this year. Several different classroom activities were used to promote mathematics and discuss
the different uses of π.
Some of the classrooms enjoyed delicious “pie” and a variety of creative “Pi day” desserts.  Students also contributed money for the Washington County food pantry as part of a community service project.  A total of $176 was raised this year.

Each year as a part of the celebration the Blair High School Math department holds a contest to see who can memorize the most digits of π.  Congratulations to this year’s winner – Derek DibbenHe was able to memorize 461 digits of π.
